The University of Waterloo has made a commitment to celebrate and recognize students’ achievements with entrance scholarships for the 2024/25 academic year. These scholarships are only available to:
Full-Time First-Year Degree Students:
Students who are enrolling in full-time first-year degree studies at the University of Waterloo are eligible to apply.
Entrance scholarships are open to students who are beginning university or college for the first time.

University of Waterloo Entrance scholarships 2024 | ELIGIBILITY
At Waterloo, scholarships and bursaries are two types of financial aid available to students, but they have distinct selection criteria and dates when they are awarded:
Scholarships:
Selection criteria: Awarded primarily based on academic and personal achievement.
Timing: Awarded in mid-May after final first-term grades are received from Ontario high schools.
Process: Scholarship information will be noted in your Waterloo Quest account. This will be under the Entrance Awards tab and beside the name of your program.
Bursaries:

Application Procedures
1. Automatic Consideration: The bulk of scholarships at the University of Waterloo is noted within an automatic application. Students will automatically be considered off specifications that were earlier set.
2. Enrollement for Admission: A student must be enrolled for admission at the University of Waterloo to be considered for an entrance scholarship.
3. Eligibility Check: Once you are admitted, your academic performances, extracurricular activities, and any other information specified by the university will be used to screen you for admission scholarships.
4. Some Other Scholarships Require Applications: While most of the scholarships are automatically awarded, there could be some exceptions. For such scholarships, the student shall have to apply separately. Please refer to the official scholarship page to learn more about specific scholarships which may call for an application.
