The partnership between the Carnegie Mellon University Africa and the Mastercard Foundation is designed to avail an opportunity called the CMU-Africa Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program.

This program is intended to support students of talent coming from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, who have great potential but lack the capacity to undertake studies financially.

CMU-Africa Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program 2024 Fully Funded

The collaboration between Carnegie Mellon University Africa and MasterCard Foundation under the CMU-Africa MasterCard Foundation Scholars Program aims to support talented students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.

The Program is part of the global network of 33 Scholars Program partners committed to developing Africa’s next generation of leaders.

Eligibility Criteria

The following are the conditions for applicants to be considered for the CMU-Africa Mastercard Foundation Scholarship:

1. International Student Status:

Applicants are required only to be international students, basically from countries outside of Africa.

2. Financial Need:

Applicants will have to demonstrate financial need, which is a testament to them having no other means through which they may advance their education.

3. Academic Talent:

Scholars are required to have a strong academic background and to exhibit through actions a drive to excel in their education.

4. Commitment to Giving Back:

The applicant should express a desire to uplift others around them or create positive change with their actions.

5. Leadership Potential:

The scholars must demonstrate potential to become role models, mentors, and change-makers in their communities.
