DAAD In-Country/In-Region Scholarship 2024 | Eligibility Criteria

The applicant must have a first academic degree if applying for a Master’s program or a Master’s degree if applying for a doctoral program.

Preference Programme:

Geographical Focus:
The scholarship is open to all nationals of Sub-Saharan Africa. Nevertheless, it especially welcomes candidates from less privileged regions or groups.

Selection Criteria

1. Initial Application to Host Institution:

The scholarship application procedure begins with the applicant applying to the host institution for admission to a Master’s or PhD program.

2. Pre-Selection by Host Institution:

After receiving applications, the host institution draws up a shortlist well in advance.

The institutions will notify the shortlisted candidates and further request them to forward more documents or even invite them for interviews in the process of pre-selection.

3. Final Application to DAAD Portal:

Only the applicants, after pre-selection by the universities, are invited to re-apply for final selection through the DAAD portal.

The applicant should follow the respective instructions provided by the DAAD for online submission of the final application.

4. Final Selection Process:

Final applications received through the DAAD portal will be assessed, and based on merit, scholarship holders will be selected.
