DAAD In-Country/In-Region Scholarship, Sub-Saharan Africa 2024/2025 [Fully Funded]
DAAD In-Country/In-Region Scholarship Programme 2024 Intake Scholarships for PhD studies in Agronomic Sciences with a major in Biometry at the University of Abomey-Calavi is now open. This cooperation between DAAD and the University of Abomey-Calavi aims at the promotion of young scholars in Benin, particularly at the postgraduate level.

Eligibility Criteria
Now, to be eligible for the DAAD In-Country/In-Region Scholarship Programmes, one must apply based on the following criteria:
Academic Qualifications:
- Applicants are to be postgraduates with a first academic degree.
- Successful completion of a two-year university Master’s degree or equivalent.
- The results for this degree generally should usually lie above average, typically at least
- Second Class/Upper Division or equivalent. Such candidates without being able to prove this achievement are not applicable.
Motivation and Commitment:
- The applicant has to demonstrate that he or she is highly motivated and committed to the field of study.
- Language proficiency: Candidates need to have acquired proficiency in the language of instruction at the host institution.
- Recent Completion of Studies: Date of successful completion of last university degree should not be older than 6 recent years from the application deadline
- Nationality/Residency: The candidate must either be a national or permanent resident of a Sub-Saharan African country.
Other Eligibility
In general, applicants must be related to one of the following points in pursuit of the DAAD In-Country/In-Region Scholarship Programmes:
- Staff Member of a Public University:
- The applicant may be a current staff member of a public university.
- Candidate Considered for Teaching or Research Staff Recruitment:
- Applicants who have been proposed or are being considered for recruitment as teaching or research staff may apply.
From the Public Sector:
- Applications are invited from the public sector.
Alumni of the DAFI Programme:
- Alumni of the DAFI programme “Albert Einstein German Academic Refugee Initiative” may also apply.
In addition, the following applicants are particularly invited to apply:
- Female Applicants
- Refugees with recognized refugee status
- Candidates from other less privileged regions or groups
- Scholarship Value and Benefits
Successful candidates for the DAAD In-Country/In-Region Scholarship Programmes will benefit from the following:
- Monthly Allowance:
- A certain amount as a monthly allowance will be provided to the awardees for covering living expenses for the duration of study.
- Study and Research Allowance:
- Funds are made available for study-related expenses, such as research materials and other related academic equipment.
- Printing Allowance:
- A different stipend is made available to take care of printing and other related academic expenses.
- Tuition Fees:
- With the scholarship, tuition fees are already paid for by the DAAD.

Log in to the Portal: Log in with your email address and password.
Fill Online Form: Fill online application form with correct information.
Upload All Relevant Documents: Get ready all the documents that will be needed in the application and upload them. They may include academic transcripts, certificates, a CV, letter of motivation, research proposal, language certificates, etc.
Reread and Submit: Check all entered information and uploaded documents for accuracy and completeness.
