Iowa State University International Merit Scholarships 2024

This International Merit Scholarship will provide the opportunity to reward and recognize outstanding international freshmen based on academic excellence and great potential.

To be considered for the International Merit Scholarship at Iowa State University, the following requirements need to be met:

1. Incoming International Freshmen: Aspiring student must be a new international student, admitted at the start of their undergraduate studies at Iowa State in the status of a full-time student.

2. SAT or ACT Scores: Applicants would be required to provide either SAT or ACT scores as needed by the institution. These test scores of standardized achievement testing show student preparedness and achievement at the academic level.

3. The applicant will complete the Iowa State University OneApp: It will include both the General OneApp application and the International Student Admission Scholarship Application. By doing so, the student will be eligible for all merit-based scholarship opportunities at Iowa State that involve the International Merit Scholarships.

4. High Potential in Academics and Leadership: The applicant must demonstrate a very outstanding academic record and leadership ability. This has to be depicted through high school transcripts, letters of recommendation, extracurricular activities, personal statements, etc.

Award of Achievement	Up to $40,000 ($5,000/yr–$10,000/yr)
Award of Distinction	Up to $16,000 ($2,000/yr–$4,000/yr)
