Mauritius Africa Scholarship Scheme 2024 for Study in Mauritius [Fully Funded]

The Government of Mauritius is pleased to announce the Mauritius Africa Scholarship Scheme for the academic year 2024/25. This scholarship will help eligible students who are resident citizens of member states of the African Union or African Commonwealth countries.

Mauritius Africa Scholarship Scheme 2024 for Study in Mauritius [Fully Funded]

Applications for the Mauritius Africa Scholarship Scheme for studies in the 2024/25 academic year are now open. A scholarship award to bright students from Member States of the African Union or African Commonwealth countries, wishing to undertake undergraduate, masters or PhD studies at public Higher Education Institutions in Mauritius.

This scholarship scheme emphasizes Mauritius’ commitment to fostering educational excellence and promoting regional cooperation among the African nations.

The Scheme contemplates providing support to students in their pursuit for higher education in Mauritius, hence contributing to human resource development and capacity building across the African continent.

Mauritius Africa Scholarship Scheme 2024 | Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for the Mauritius Africa Scholarship Scheme 2024 are indicated below:

For Undergraduate Programmes:

• Age Requirement: Applicants should be above 18 years of age and should not have reached their 26th birthday by 01 January 2025.
• Application of Programme: Applicants must have already applied for a full-time on-campus undergraduate programme (Diploma or Degree) at a public Higher Education Institution in Mauritius for the academic year starting in 2024.

For MPhil/PhD Programmes:

• Age Requirement: Candidates must not have attained 40 years of age as of 01 January 2025.
• Programme Application: Candidates must have already applied for a full-time on-campus MPhil or PhD programme at a public Higher Education Institution in Mauritius for the academic year commencing in 2024.

Application Procedures

How-to-Apply: Interested applicants for the Mauritius Africa Scholarship Scheme 2024 are invited to complete the application form and provide all the needed documents.
Application for the scholarship can only be made on the application form, duly filled-in.

Appropriate section of the application form has been set aside that must be endorsed and completed by the Nominating Agency in the country of citizenship of the applicant.

Applications, together with supporting documents as required, should be forwarded to the Ministry of Education, Tertiary Education, Science and Technology of the Republic of Mauritius at the address indicated below:
