Canvas is a web-based software that allows the University of California, Riverside, UCR to manage digital learning, educators to create and present online learning materials and assess student learning, and students needs to engage in courses and receive feedback about skill development and learning achievement.

It provides an intuitive design, modern interface, and enhanced communication tools that will strengthen the institution’s ability to deliver engaging, high-quality learning experiences for UCR students.

UCR Canvas iLearn, Library Login at Ucr.edu

Canvas Learning Management System is one of the amazing learning resources of the institution and the students can access it frequently throughout their courses to:

  • Submit assignments.
  • Access learning resources including reading lists and course work.
  • Access your timetable.
  • Participate in learning activities.
  • Communicate with other students and lecturers.
  • Receive feedback and marks.

To use UCR Canvas, you will need:

  • Valid UCR ID and Login Credentials
  • Computer or Smartphone with Internet Access Capability
  • Email invitation from your instructor.

Canvas UCR Student Login

To login to your Canvas account as a student, UCR will email your login information. Students are advised to only accept a course invitation to log in.

To login to your Canvas dashboard:

1. Type in https://canvas.ucr.edu/ on a browser. Your login page will appear in the window.

2. Enter either your student email address.

3. Enter your Password: this should be your registration number if you haven’t changed your password.

4. Click on “Log in”. You will be taken to your dashboard

Canvas UCR Student App

Students can conveniently login to UCR Canvas with the Canvas Student app. The Canvas App is available in Google Play Store and in App Store.

With the Canvas Student app, each student will be able to login with QR code. The QR code is a new feature that allows you to log in with your phone by scanning the QR code, which will then redirect you to the Canvas Student app without entering using your school URL.

Logging with the app:

1. Open the Canvas app and enter UCR Canvas URL or you can search your school name using the search bar.

2. Tap on the login button and enter either your UCR email address.

3. Enter your Password: this should be your registration number if you haven’t changed your password.

4. Tap on “Log in”. You will be taken to your dashboard on the app.

To login with QR code, tap the Account link and then tap the QR Code for Mobile Login link and the Proceed button.

How to Find Your QR Code

The Canvas QR Code feature must be enabled by UCR staff before you can login with it or view it. The QR code should be kept securely, because it is the same as your password and should be kept confidential. Please do not allow others to capture your QR code, else they will have access to your information.

You can scan the QR code from the login page of your Student app from an Android device or an iOS device. Make sure you use the QR codes on time as it expires 10 minutes after they are generated

To view your QR code:

1. Sign in to your Canvas account and Tap on the Account:

2. Tap on “QR code for Mobile”.

3. Tap on the Proceed button. Your code will display.

Note: If you cannot view QR codes, it means UCR has not enabled this feature.

UCR Canvas Password Reset

Should incase you cannot log into your Canvas account, probably you have forgotten your password or you just feel the need to change your password. You can use the UCR online Forgotten password tool while you must also supply the personal email address you have recorded via your enrolment.

To recover your password:

1. Go to the Canvas UCR login page and click on the Login button.

2. Click on the “Forgot password” link below.

3. Enter your personal email account, the email you used for your registration.

4.  Click on send reset link or code.

5. Check your personal email account, as you will receive UCR Account Support Request email from IT Support.

6. Open the email, follow the link, enter your new password and submit.

You can now log in with your new password.

To avoid issues logging in when you reset your password, you must ensure your password is changed on all devices that are connected to the University of California, Riverside services.

Why You Don’t Have Access to Your Courses

You can’t sign in to your courses on the Canvas site if your teacher has not allowed students to access them. Excepts your teacher permits, if not students cannot view a newly published course on their dashboard.

For this reason, even though it is true that all course materials and resources are in a course on the first-day , students are not allowed access to all of the course materials and resources on the first day. Also,  the UCR Canvas requirements and prerequisites including other Canvas Modules allow for the staff to control the flow of students through a course.

UCR Library How to Check Out a Book

The University of California, Riverside (UCR) offers a very much comfortable and flexible study environment with excellent learning resources for her students. Students can take advantage of various collections of information sources and access expert help, advice, and recommendations.

Students can sign in to their Library Account online to renew any books they have borrowed (online), check the details of any books they have borrowed over the last couple of months, or check the status of any book reservations they have made.

To login the library you can:

  • Log in using your UCR username and password.
  • Log in using your ID card number and library PIN.

How to Log into Your UCR Email

The student email is hosted by UCR.

1. To Log into UCR email first login to the student portal or click on this link to visit the login page at https://auth.ucr.edu/.

2. Once you log in, click on “My email”.

3. Click on the Student id tab and type your Student ID number.

4. In the Password box enter your current network password.
