Kaohsiung Medical University (KMU) is now accepting applications for several scholarships available to prospective international students who wish to study at the university in Taiwan. These scholarships are open to both full-time undergraduate and research students.
Kaohsiung Medical University Scholarships for International Students 2024
Kaohsiung Medical University (KMU) is a private medical university in Taiwan that offers courses across various disciplines, including medicine, pharmacy, nursing, health sciences, and life sciences. The university provides scholarships for eligible prospective degree students who are pursuing undergraduate, master’s, and PhD programs.

Kaohsiung Medical University Scholarships 2024 | DETAILS
Applicants who possess a non-R.O.C. nationality shall meet the Regulations Regarding International Students Undertaking Studies in Taiwan (Ministry of Education).
Every type of stipend includes different allowance as:
- Type A: NTD 200,000~260,000 per year (monthly stipend, accommodation coverage and tuition fee are included)
- Type B: NTD 80,000~140,000 per year (accommodation coverage and tuition fee are included)
- Type C: NTD 70,000~80,000 per year (tuition fee)
Undergraduate students can only apply for Type C, Master’s students can apply for Type B and Type C, Ph.D. students can apply for all types of the scholarship. Failure to follow the instructions above may affect the result of application.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for Kaohsiung Medical University (KMU) Scholarships for International Students, applicants are expected to meet the following conditions:
- Undergraduate Program:
Qualification: A senior high school diploma obtained from an overseas senior high school, or a foreign or bilingual school in Taiwan, or a document of equivalent educational level recognized by the Ministry of Education (M.O.E.) and verified by the Republic of China (R.O.C.) representative office.
- School of Post-Baccalaureate Medicine:
Qualification: A Bachelor’s degree or higher from a university or independent college recognized by the M.O.E., verified by the R.O.C. representative office.
Additional Requirement: If the applicant has completed studies in accordance with the provisions of Article 4, Paragraph 1 of the Regulations Regarding International Students Undertaking Studies in Taiwan, a certificate of “being enrolled via International Students Admission Channel in a bachelor’s degree program or higher” is required.
- Master’s Program:
Qualification: A Bachelor’s degree or higher from a university or independent college recognized by the M.O.E., or a document of equivalent educational level verified by the R.O.C. representative office.
Additional Requirement: If the applicant has completed studies in accordance with the provisions of Article 4, Paragraph 1 of the Regulations Regarding International Students Undertaking Studies in Taiwan, a certificate of “being enrolled via International Students Admission Channel in a bachelor’s degree program or higher” is required.
- PhD Program:
Qualification: A Master’s degree or higher from a university or independent college recognized by the M.O.E., or a document of equivalent educational level verified by the R.O.C. representative office.

International Students: Applicants must be international students.

Application Procedures
How-to-Apply: Applicants who wish to apply for KMU International Student Scholarship should do so while simultaneously completing the online application form as follows:
Log on to Application Website, select [Undergraduate Program] or [Master/Ph.D.], whichever applies to the degree being sought. Sign up for a personal account. Applicants may apply for up to 3 programs. Application without online registration will not be accepted.
Please carefully read the Declaration and agree to the terms of application. Note that your application form will not be saved if any of the required field on this form is left blank.
Fill in an online application form for the respective program applied for: Undergraduate, Post-Baccalaureate Medicine, Master’s, or PhD.
Fill in the form online and print, then sign.
Scan the signed application form and upload the scanned copy to the online application portal.
Click the button “Submit Application” to complete the application.
