This is an extremely generous scholarship opportunity, amounting to up to R1.5 million for a Master’s degree and up to R2 million for a PhD. FirstRand Laurie Dippenaar Scholarship provides the financial support that South African students need to pursue their postgraduate studies outside of South Africa’s borders in almost any discipline.

Eligibility Criteria

For FirstRand Laurie Dippenaar Scholarship, applicants should be the following:

• Applicants must be South African Citizen
• Preference will be given to candidates under the age of 35
• Applicants with leadership qualities
• Applicants with strength of character
• Community involvement and Potential to be a destiny changer in his or her chosen field.
• Candidates who are currently, or have been, studying overseas for degree purposes will not be considered for this scholarship.
• All candidates are expected to ensure that they return to South Africa for a minimum period of five years after completion of their studies.
